Cars is disturbing? Monsters, Inc. (listed in comments) is scary? The Care Bears movie? What the hell?

Kids these days are coddled. I remember playground equipment that was fun. Riding bicycles and skating without helmets. (Not playing hockey, just skating). Riding my bicycle to school (across town, including at least one major stree) when I was in grade one. Playing shinney tag in winter (tag where you threw a spongy puck at each other), murder ball in gym, and lawn darts in summer.

I agree with you there. I'm not sure how brittle the bones of children are these days- I know I broke a few and lived to tell the tale. Lawn darts, nerf guns, broom ball, biking unsupervised, hanging upside down from the highest monkey bars with no soft surface to cushion your fall- these are important parts of childhood.

But the Rats of Nihm still freaks me the hell out.
